The Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB), Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden, has a post-doctoral researcher position open in the Division of Biomaterials under Professor Molly Stevens.
Description
The selected candidate will work on translational projects at the interface of biology, chemistry, and biomaterials science. For a variety of delivery applications, the candidate will develop and characterize new nanomaterials.With an emphasis on cancer treatment and drug delivery to immune cells, the research will concentrate on targeted drug delivery for healthcare. Numerous opportunities for collaborative work will be provided to the candidate, both inside KI and outside of Molly Stevens’ group at Oxford University, as well as other academic research groups and industry partners.
Qualification/Profile
A doctorate in biomaterials, nanoscience, cell biology, engineering, or another relevant discipline.
Additionally, this position requires expertise in:
- Techniques for creating and characterizing nanoparticles, as well as their use in medicine
- various methods for characterizing and purifying materials, such as single nanoparticle analysis, DLS, SEC, NTA, and EM
- assays for assessing the reaction of cells to nanoparticles in vitro, such as cytotoxicity, uptake, and functional cargo delivery tests
- immunocytochemistry and various methods of microscopy
- ligand-nanoparticle conjugation and binding investigations
- history of carrying out research projects
