A PhD position in the Air Quality and Particle Technology group (Prof. Dr. J. Wang) is open to applications. The applicant selected will enroll at ETH Zürich.

Description of the Job

Plasmonic biosensing has been used by the research team for label-free and real-time biomolecular interaction analysis, including the detection of airborne viruses and the local aggregation of proteins and nucleic acids.

The student will work on assignments like:

  • Investigating interaction of proteins and nucleic acids
  • Developing advanced plasmonic materials
  • Developing various configurations of plasmonic sensing methods

Qualification/Profile

  • Qualified applicants with outstanding grades who hold a master’s degree in biochemistry, biotechnology, material science, or a similar discipline
  • High value is placed on having good experimental capability.
  • Proficiency in English is necessary.
