
About the Job
The Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft-funded TRR404 “Next Generation Electronics With Active Devices in Three Dimensions [Active-3D]” is a collaborative research center/transregion between Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen (RWTH Aachen) and TUD Dresden University of Technology. The Research Associate/Postdoc position at TUD is available through the TRR404 as of April 1, 2025, or as soon as possible after that date. The job is only available for 36 months. The Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz – WissZeitVG) governs the duration of employment. The job provides the opportunity to earn additional academic credentials, typically a habilitation thesis. It’s crucial to strike a balance between work and family.
Description
The Postdoc will be responsible for the following research tasks:
- device fabrication,
- characterization, and
- optimization, as well as stability studies, which will include experimental work, data analysis, report preparation, publication, and dissemination of results.
Qualification/Profile
- Outstanding university (master’s or equivalent) and PhD in electrical engineering or physics
- Above-average degree achieved in a short period of study
- Readiness and capacity to act in a global and diverse setting, think beyond the confines of your field, and communicate openly and constructively
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, inventiveness
- A self-sufficient, goal-oriented, and solution-focused work mindset
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of German would be advantageous
